Internal Talent Mobility
Internal Talent Mobility is a broader talent strategy that helps organizations become more agile, upskill and reskill employees in the flow of work, and increase engagement through choice.
When people use the term internal talent mobility, they're generally referring to moving talent to different jobs within an organization for the purpose of supplying specific learning opportunities.
However, our firm applies this term to a broader talent strategy that helps organization become more agile, upskill and reskill employees in the flow of work, and increase employee engagement by providing employees more choice in work.
By leveraging what we know from the gig economy, organizations can create an internal talent marketplace to gain visibility into the hidden skills, capabilities and aspirations of employees in order to more rapidly and cost-effectively match the right internal talent to solve real-time business projects.
Thus, rather than completely moving from a job to take on a new challenge, employees can apply for project opportunities that are outside of their day-to-day job responsibilities.
